As the summer comes to a close, I wanted to share the beauty and skin care products that have really been working for me this summer and why. The first product that has really been working for me is a new mascara, L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise. I had heard the hype around it from vloggers on YouTube and after I got a tube for myself it has quickly become my favorite mascara, drugstore or high-end.
The second product that has really been working wonders for my skin care routine is the Pixi Double Cleanse. The product come in one large jar with two compartments. The left compartment being a solid cleansing oil that reminds me slightly of Clinique’s Take the Day Off Balm; while the right compartment is filled with a cleansing cream. I love how quickly this gets off even my toughest makeup and it leaves no makeup residue on my face.
The third product that has really kept my foundation locked in place all summer, has been the Flower Beauty Translucent Setting Powder. I am in love with how finely milled this powder is and how seamlessly it melts into my face to give me a matte finish. The only downside to the product is the smell. It doesn’t smell badly, but it does have a unique aroma that when first testing the product I was like “wow that’s strong”. But throughout the summer I have gotten used to it, because it’s not an overpowering scent, just unique.
The fourth product is also from Flower Beauty and I’m in love with it. The 3-in-1 Blending Sponge is an amazing dupe for a Beauty Blender. It’s super soft, it expands to about two or three times it’s size when dampened, and the shape of it is great for getting the area right under the eyes.
A lip product that I’ve been really digging this month is from Revlon from their Ultra HD Collection. I can’t vouch for any other color, besides Embrace, because that’s the only one I picked up, but it’s magnificent. I am normally a chapstick girl only, a normal lipstick if I think my lips are looking wonky and that’s it. So to fall so in love with a lip product is weird for me. I love that the product lasts a long time on my lips. I really love the color pay off and I love that is smells like vanilla cake. The only reason you might not like this product is if you don’t prefer strong scents in your lip products.
Finally, two eye and face palettes that I have been loving this summer are from Tarte. I love palettes that are 2-in-1’s or just an all over face palette, which is why I gravitate to Tarte so much when I buy palettes, because they seem to have the best of those. And as a person that is constantly traveling, all-in-one products are very important. The two palettes I’ve been obsessing over are the Swamp Queen Palette (Left) and the Be Your Own Tarteist Palette (Right). As a person with more neutral undertones I like having both cool and warm toned palettes on deck so that I can achieve any type of look. The only thing that I don’t like about the Swamp Queen Palette is that the highlighter, Gator Wings, has a lot of chunky glitter in it, which isn’t my favorite type of highlighter. If you really like a more glittery highlight then Gator Wings might be the highlighter for you, it’s just not my cup of tea.
Those were my summer favorites. Please comment down below some of the products that you have been loving this summer or just think that I should try out.
